Happy Christmas

May those decisive moments come in focus and fast 😀

Love this door along the canal in Portobello. Had to go grab my camera and come back and snap it!

Yemaya fashion shoot

Really happy to release these images I took a few months back.

These are the amazing creative designs by the talented Haile lemarie of Yemaya clothing. We shot a few of her different summer pieces on the beautiful Tiny Pixie. Shooting in and around the Bernard Shaw and Portobello area, we set the scene for her unique urban styles. Give her a follow and check out more of her work.

Really happy with how this shoot went and I’m excited to venture more into Portrait and fashion photography. So hit me up if you have any ideas you would like to collaborate on.

Hope you all enjoy

Irish flora and fauna Urban

Cyanistes caeruleus

So I bought a little bird feeder and stuck it out in the front garden and look who arrived to feast. The Eurasian blue tit is a small passerine bird in the tit family Paridae. These little fellas have a beautiful chripy call and are hard to photograph as they are so quick. Click in and check them out 🙂

Dublin Winter Solstice Festival

The Dublin Winter Solstice festival took place just at the end of December and I’m only getting a chance to go through the photos now!

The lighting of the ceremonial fire took place in DIT Grangegorman, where the Smashing Times Theatre and Film Company also put on story telling, face painting and a ceili.

The fire was light by Slí An Chroí with the flame form the ceremonial sunrise fire at the scared site of Newgrange. Newgrange is best known for the illumination of its passage and chamber by the winter solstice sun. The sun shines in through a small opening above the chamber on the shortest days of the year, around December 21st, illuminating the entire chamber.

The theater company then put on a short dance show and we all headed in a parade towards Smithfield square. Here the fire was placed down and people were then invited to write what they would like to leave behind and invite in for the new year.

It was a really great event with great energy and fun!

Lets hope the fire listens to my wishes for the new year!

Bill for the use medicinal Cannabis

Last night a bill on the use of cannabis for medicinal was  discussed and passed in the Dail. This is fantastic on so many levels.

As in many other countries, medicinal cannabis provides relief to a vast number of people suffering from a plethora of conditions, such as glaucoma, MS, cancer and epilepsy, to name a few.

This bill will also hopefully remove the stigma and negative press around a simple plant which has been demonized by our society. It will be the first step in a long road to research on this plant and other natural medicines such as psilocybin producing mushrooms. Which are now coming to light in treatments for anxiety and depression.

Dublin at night

It was great to get out last night take some pictures and make a new friend. The river Liffey is so beautiful at night near the convention centre, with all the lights reflecting off it. The Beckett bridge is such an amazing bridge to photograph and one of my favourites along the river.
