Psilocybin retreats
Safe, legal psilocybin retreats in the Netherlands with Inwardbound, the retreat I co-founded. Our purpose is simple: to reconnect you to yourself, to others and to the natural world.
Why people come on retreat
Everyone arrives with their own reasons. Some know exactly what they’re looking for, others simply sense that something needs to shift. Our retreats may suit you if you’re looking for:
- Inner transformation and growth
- Clarity and insight
- Breaking old patterns
- Deeper purpose and fulfilment
- Reconnecting with your inner child
- Creativity and a fresh perspective
- Spiritual and existential exploration
- Empowerment and resilience
- Rest, restoration and renewal
- A deeper relationship with nature
Two ways to journey
Every retreat uses psilocybin truffles, which are legal to buy and use in the Netherlands, and every one is wrapped in preparation beforehand and integration afterwards.

Your journey, from first call to coming home
The ceremony is one part of the process. What you carry home is the rest.
-
Screening
After you apply, you’ll have an hour-long consultation with a psychotherapist to make sure the retreat is right for you, and to answer your questions.
-
Preparation
Together we set your intention. What do you want to let go of, heal or grow into? Coaching workshops and group sessions help you arrive ready.
-
The retreat
We meet in Amsterdam and travel to the venue. Ceremonies take place on the afternoons of days two and three, followed by two days of integration.
-
Integration
A one-to-one session straight after, then coaching, group integration and a consultation with a psychotherapist to help you live what you learned.
Every group retreat includes six preparation and integration sessions, including a one-to-one consultation with a psychotherapist.
Evidence-informed, with spirit at the heart
Life’s greatest challenges often become the doorway to our deepest growth.
Our interdisciplinary team of psychotherapists, PhD scientists and holistic therapists works in the broad tradition of Dr Stan Grof, creating a safe container for you to access the wisdom of your own inner healer.
We also come from a long tradition of psilocybin use in Ireland. Our Celtic ancestors worked with the wild mushrooms of Northern Europe for healing and visionary inspiration, a practice known as Imbas Forosnai. We continue that land-based tradition in a modern ceremonial setting.
I came to this work as a scientist, with a PhD from Trinity College Dublin, and through my own healing. I’ve personally guided hundreds of people through their journeys.
In their words
Inwardbound is rated 4.9 from 93 Google reviews.
So much care, love, compassion and understanding from the facilitators.
The focus on integration is hugely beneficial.
The preparation leading up to the retreat and the support after was amazing.
Safe, legal and honest about who it suits
We work in the Netherlands, where buying and using psilocybin truffles is legal, so we can work within the law. I don’t offer psilocybin sessions in Ireland.
Our retreats aren’t suitable if you:
- Are in a very vulnerable emotional or psychological state
- Have a diagnosed psychiatric illness such as schizophrenia, bipolar, clinical depression or a personality disorder
- Take psychiatric medication, including SSRIs, that you can’t stop
- Have a personal or family history of psychosis
- Are dealing with serious addiction, suicidality, severe anxiety, stress or burnout
Not sure? Let’s talk
A short call back is the best place to start. We can talk openly about what you’re hoping for and whether a retreat is a good fit. The Inwardbound FAQ answers the most common questions too.
We do not make any medical or therapeutic claims about our psilocybin retreats. See the terms and conditions for cancellation and date-change policies.
